Vendor Governance

The Managed Services market within the telecom industry is in a high-growth phase and is characterized by agreements that vary in scope, between Managed Services providers and a broad range of telecom operators.

Operators decide to proceed with outsourcing (MS) their network operations mainly due to three reasons: increased financial pressures, ever-increasing complexities of networks, and planned focus on core revenue generating activities.

While outsourcing network operations to a vendor or other service provider, mobile operators should have an independent layer for control and view of network operations; otherwise they will be left with a one-sided view of the network quality.

Our approach to Vendor Governance is as follows:

  • Review & Revamp all existing KPIs and have very strict floating KPIs, updated along with traffic growth.
  • Keep the vendor in line with an adherence to all RNPO related deliverables agreed between an operator and a vendor.
  • Align all planning & optimization related tasks as per the processes and procedures.
  • Validation of all optimization activities proposed by the MS team and full control over implementation and performance.
  • Close coordination with the Vendor MS team for new trials, optimization techniques and network handling strategies.
  • Ensure the Vendor complies with the agreed MS team structure, and perform competence-gap analysis periodically.
